ghazal in English translation:
1.pal
cha’nd hi bas dil ko, lagaane mai’n lage’nge,
phir barso’n mohabbat ko, nibhaane mai’n lage’nge.
(Felling in love just takes a moment and indulges into deep connection.
Later the whole life is spent in love’s maintenance and protection.)
2.socha
na thha ahbaab bhi, ban jaae’nge, dushman,
jo kaar-gah-e- ‘ishq ko, Dhaane mai’n lage’nge.
(I never thought the change in behavior of my own associates and friends.
That one day they will demolish my love’s estate and alter its trends.)
3.ulfat
mai’n to ma’luum nahee’n, kitne zamaane,
bedard zamaane ko, manaane mai’n lage’nge.
(Due to weird and strict traditional restrictions, loving someone is injurious.
You have to deal with restraint of society instead those make you furious.)
4.irshaad
ki t’ameel karuu’nga, mai’n agarche,
din umr ke sab tum ko, bhulaane mai’n lage’nge.
(I will try utmost to comply with the rules and regulations of love anyway.
Though in doing this the life of mine has to run on the uneven highway.)
5.bichhRa
hai achaanak voh, to mehsuus huva hai,
lamhaat sabhi, ashk giraane mai’n lage’nge.
(At the occasion of separating of my beloved from me I become known.
That the rest of my life will be spent in her memory crying and in moan.)

maira guzar-gaah-e-sitam, hi sahi, lekin,
hum shehr-e-vafa phir se, sajaane mai’n lage’nge.
(My heart is though like a freeway where cruelty and injustice over speeds.
(But I will try paving the deserted paths of my heart with conscious and
heeds.)
7.kuchh
lafz, miri prem kahaani se bichhaR kar,
ik roz tumhaare bhi, fasaane mai’n lage’nge.
(One day, O my love, you will see some parts from my love story will depart.
And joining you will become one of the happening of your life's part.)
8.ik
hum jo na ho’nge, to na ujRe gi yeh dunya,
maile to bahar-haal, zamaane mai’n lage’nge.
(If certain people didn't exist here, there would not any deficiency of
any kind.
People have been enjoying on their own since the birth of mankind.)
9.ashko’n
ne faqat, zakhm hi sulgaaey hai’n ‘Ashraf’,
hum aatish-e-dil, khuu’n se bujhaane mai’n lage’nge.
(‘Ashraf’, my tears awarded me pain and made my wounds irritate.
Now I shall extinguish the fire of loneliness with my blood to retaliate.)
