'urdu' ghazal in English translation:
1.
teri aa'nkhho'n mai'n bas, nazar hi nahee'n,
tuu hai mujh mai'n, tujhe khabar hi nahee'n.
(Almost everyone though has eyesight, but most seem have no insight.
Like, who you love with the core of your heart, that doesn't respond you
right.)
2. beh raha huu'n, mei'n sathh ashko'n ke,
Duub jaauu'nga, yeh khatar hi nahee'n.
(In love, though my thoughts are flowing like my eyes shedding tears.
But my feelings have no danger of drowning, and my face shows no fears.)
3. baar-ha khud hi kyuu'n, banaata raha,
sochta huu'n, jo mera ghar hi nahee'n.
(I have no idea, why I kept building that dwelling, again and again?
That wasn't my home, for which I invested my whole life in vain.)
4. mairi paRtaal par, huvey ma'amuur,
jo kisi taur, moa'tabar hi nahee'n.
(The people in this society who were given the charge to scrutinize my
repute.
Their respect and dignity also, proved corrupt and under dispute.)
5. voh bhi uRne ki, soch mai'n hai magan,
jism par jiske, baal-o-par hi nahee'n.
(Everyone in this world seems racing to compete each other at any cost.
Without determination, and with lack of patience most runners soon get
exhaust.)
6. na sunai'n kis ki, aur sunai'n kis se,
koi qissa, keh mukhtasar hi nahee'n.
(We can neither listen everyone's story in detail, nor can afford all
to ignore.
Everybody here has long stories to tell, and each tale ends up in painful
soar.)
7. hai sukuut-o-sabaat ka, bhi 'amal,
zindgani faqat, safar hi nahee'n.
(We have made our lives like a machine, always in motion and traveling.
If we analyze its reality, the life of ours is also meant for resting
and relaxing.)
8. meri haalat se, be-khabar hai voh,
mujh ko is baat ki, khabar hi nahee'n.
(My beloved, for no reasons, has no concern of my wellness and my welfare.
When I take care of her wellness, then why she doesn't indulge in my affairs?)
9. jo nahee'n zakhm zakhm, choTo'n se,
jaaniiye, voh mira jigar hi nahee'n.
(The heart, that has no signs of injuries, I don't think it's mine.
My beloved always keeps my soul in trouble and wounds, shine.)
10. is ki har pal,
naeey kahaani hai,
aadmi, aaj ki khabar hi nahee'n.
(Human being creates the news every day, he is not the news of one day.
His each motion brings up hundreds of stories every moment in different
way.)
11. zi'ndgi key, hazaar pehluu hai'n,
sirf tairi miri, nazar hi nahee'n.
(Life embodies various horizons some exposed and some enveloped.
To explore its mysteries, no wisdom has yet been developed.)
12. raaste manzilo'n ne, baa'nT liye,
maire hisse ki, rah-guzar hi nahee'n.
(All of my success destinations have been distributed in unknown highways.
Thats why almost all my thoroughfares, lead me to deserted and thorny
ways.)
13. hai yeh 'aala-o-ashraf-ul-makhluuq,
yeh bashar, bas baraaye shar hi nahee'n.
(The man's creation has judged, as well behaved living species on the
earth.
He has never been a harmful, playful, and deceitful by nature or by birth.)
