'urdu' ghazal in English translation:

Hamd bari taa'la.(In Almighty honor)

1.khudava’nda! mujhe har-dam, faqat tera sahaara,
masaaib mai’n hamesha hi, tujhe mei’n ne pukaara.
(O, Almighty! I always and only seek Thine help and protection.
I constantly, request Thine favor in any of the obstruction.)

2. muhafiz aur maalik bhi, tu hi kaun-o-makaa’n ka,
teri bakhshish ‘inaayat ka, nahee’n koi kanaara.
(Thou only, have the right being the protector and the owner of the whole universe.
Thine kindness and forgiveness has no limitation and purlieus.) (boundary)

3.khilauno’n ki tarah paaba’nd hum, teri raza ke,
hamaari qismato’n par hai, faqat tera ijaara.
(We as the human beings are just like the toys for Thou and bound to Thine order.
And our fortune, is also being controlled by Thine authority and power.)

4.teri makhluuq ki, laakho’n karoRo’n mai’n hai ginti,
akela rabb par tu muflis-o-shah-o-gada ra.
(Thine creation consists of multi-millions of billions in number.
But under Thine authority of ‘Oneness’, every single creature does surrender.)

5.maruu’n har raat mei’n, har subah ho jaata huu’n paida,
teri qudrat bhala hoti nahee’n, yuu’n aashkaara?
(Every single night, I die and every next morning do thrive.
Is it not an every day’s miracle, of Thine Omnipresence, that I do survive?)

6.tu meri khair ki khaatir, mujhe har shar se roke,
magar mei’n roz kar laita huu’n, kuchh apna khasaara.
(Thou! For mine wellness, forbids me from every kind of wrong.
But being a human being, some sins, automatically with me, get along.)

7.khataae’n is qadar mujh se huee hai’n, ai khudaya,
mujhe muafi ki khatir, zi’ndgi daina dubaara.
(O Allah, I have made countless blunders, and am bound to make more.
I request Thine highness to grant me an other life to implore.)

8. chamakta us ko rakhne ki, karuu'nga puuri koshish,
dikha de gar mujhe tuu, mairi qismat ka sitaara.
(I will try utmost to shine that with my full capacity.
If Thou show me the star of my fate in reality.)

9. khudaaya, iltija ‘Ashraf’ ki bas tujh se yahi hai,
na ho kuchh mujh se aisa, jo na ho tujh ko gavaara.
(O, Omnipotent! ‘Ashraf’ (myself) just lodges a request before Thine domination.
Please, keep me away from such deeds, which cause Thine irritation.)
